Rehearsal audio sample 1: volunteer church choir, Sussex Carol (arr. Willcocks), West Side United Methodist Church, Ann Arbor, December 17, 2015
This rehearsal clip showcases leading a rehearsal during the choir's early note-learning stages. This included focus on improving intonation, keeping a steady pulse, and envisioning a larger phrase architecture. It should be parenthetically noted that I received only 4 hours notice that I would need to lead this rehearsal, due to a sudden illness of the choir director. A PDF score for the portion of music rehearsed is provided (beginning at v. 2). Duration: 9 minutes, 32 seconds

Rehearsal audio sample 2: professional church choir, The Strife Is O'er (C. A. Gibbs), St. John's Episcopal Church, Detroit, May 5, 2013
This clip exhibits rehearsal on the interpretive aspects of an exuberant section. Imagery was provided to the choir in order to achieve the desired tonal color. A PDF of the rehearsed section is provided. Duration: 2 minutes, 46 seconds

Lessons and Carols service booklet, December 18, 2006
This unique Lessons and Carols service held in 2006 featured traditional carols and readings, but was novel in that all the choral music was chosen from the Afro-American musical tradition. The service was preceded by a November 2006 workshop on spirituals led by preeminent director Brainerd Blyden-Taylor, the Founder and Artistic Director of The Nathaniel Dett Chorale, Canada’s first professional chamber choir dedicated to the creation and performance of Afrocentric music of all styles. The choir had an opportunity to rehearse with Blyden-Taylor as well as learn the history and context in which these songs were written.
